Aimée Beaubien creates immersive photographic installations, collages, artists’ books, and three-dimensional works, ranging from layered fields of photographed plants and natural forms to larger-than-life body parts inscribed with text in navigable, site-specific environments. Her work investigates the intersections of the real and the ideal, nature and technology, and the body as a site of messaging, persuasion, and power. Beaubien has exhibited nationally and internationally and is a Professor of Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she has taught since 1997.
